Elizabeth Lucy Peters
October 1874 – 24 December 1961
Elizabeth Peters immigrated to the United States as a 13 year old girl with her mother Mary Ann and three of her siblings: Edwin Jr., Mary Ann, and Matthew. Her father, Edwin Sr., had immigrated a year earlier.
Her parents would have 3 more children in the US: Amy, Beatrice, and Charles.
According to the 1940 census, she had a 6th grade education.
She married Stephen Smart at Christ Episcopal Church in Ansonia on 30 October 1897. Over the years, they would have four children: Mabel, Mary, Raymond, and Elizabeth.
She and much of her family are buried in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia, Connecticut and can be found on FindAGrave .
